Daily Needs boosts informal sector

Daily Needs Supermarket in Selebi Phikwe has donated P25 000 worth of food vouchers to 50 people in the informal sector.
The supermarket's managing director, Mr Najumudee Safiullah, said the donation would help vendors whose businesses were hit hard during the period of extreme social distancing.
He said small businesses supported his business, therefore the donation was meant to give back to the community and at the same time help government to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said Daily Needs Supermarket also contributed P5 000 towards the COVID-19 Relief fund.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the beneficiaries, Councillor Amogelang Mojuta applauded Daily Needs Supermarket for supporting the informal sector in the Selebi Phikwe East area.
He said small businesses had been hit hard by the outbreak of corona virus and as such many closed down when the country went into lockdown.
Meanwhile, Selebi Phikwe Town Council received a donation of soap and sanitisers from Office of the President to assist in combating COVID-19 in Selebi Phikwe. ends
