Lazenby Botswana, a company operating Lucara Botswana plant in Letlhakane, has donated 333 food hampers to Boteti community.
Lazenby assistant site manager, Mr Sonnyboy Kruger, said the company would donate hampers over a period of three months at a cost of P300 000.
He said the company had taken a decision to rescue members of community from effects of COVID-19 pandemic. The company’s intention, Mr Kruger said, was to help communities living in areas under its area operation.
Kgosi Barontshi Kegapetswe of Letlhakane urged Batswana to devise initiatives that could sustain their families during lockdown.
Boteti Sub-council chairperson, Mr Molemi Galeragwe, appreciated Lazenby’s noble gesture saying it came at the right time and urged them to continue with creation of job opportunities for the communities in the area. Ends
