Out of a total of 22 people who were quarantined at Shumba Lodge in Tutume, 18 had tested negative for Coronavirus and released, while two were still awaiting their results.
Tutume District Health Management Team head, Dr Irvan Kgetse told BOPA that the two remaining people were Batswana who entered into the country from Zimbabwe through ungazetted points at Maitengwe.
He said on April 14, a 17-year-old girl who went missing at Sepako village had also been put in a quarantine at Shumba Lodge.
Dr Kgetsi explained that the girl left her home in Sepako to harvest wild berries and got lost, ending up in Zimbabwe.
People on the Zimbabwean side assisted her to get back home and she is still being monitored at the quarantine.
He further pointed out that Tutume Sub-district had not been included in the five districts that were going to undergo mass community testing. The five are greater Gaborone, Francistown, Gantsi and Ngami as well as Chobe. ENDS
