Twelve people; nine women and three men have been arrested and charged for illegal brewing of traditional beer in Nata.
Nata Police Station commander, Superintendent Vincent Pitseitsile said in an interview with BOPA that some of the people were the elderly, who claimed that they survived through selling traditional beer.
He further noted that first offenders would be fined P500 while constant offenders would be fined P1 000.
Meanwhile, Supt Pitseitsile said although crime during the lockdown period had gone down due to massive patrols of law enforcement officers, they had arrested three men for stealing 12 horses in Nata.
He said they had since found eight of them and were in search of the remaining four, while still holding the suspects in custody. ENDS
