Farmers complain about permits
16 Apr 2020
Some farmers in the Serowe region have complained that the five-day travelling permit they are given is inadequate.
In an interview, Mr Themba Morakaladi, a farmer at Ditshukudu cattle post near Mabuo, complained about the limited number of days given to farmers to check on their livestock.
He said a typical Motswana man has three homes and responsibilities at the cattle post, fields and the village. He added that wild animals destroyed their livestock and crops while under lockdown.
Mr Patrick Motalaote also complained that their livestock would get lost as they moved from place to place searching for pasture, adding that even thieves would take advantage of the lockdown regulations to steal their cattle. Ends
