Lobatse Member of Parliament, Dr Thapelo Matsheka and Lobatse Town Council mayor, Essop Pandor donated food hampers to Extension Gunners football club players to help them during the COVID-19 extreme social distancing period.
A press release from the club says the food hampers donated on April 14, would be shared amongst players and the technical team.

“Extension Gunners FC leadership wishes to express its gratitude to the MP and the mayor for their continued assistance as this will bridge the gaps of the team financial challenges during this period.
We are proud and happy to have this kind of leadership that is always with us and mobilising resources to assist in sport development in Lobatse,” states the release.
“The team leadership calls upon the business community and supporters to pledge any form of assistance towards the team to mitigate its challenges during this era.
They also advise football players to stay at home and do physical training in their homesteads to maintain physical fitness,” says the release.
“Furthermore, we urge Batswana and all football lovers to adhere to COVID-19 preventative measures of practicing social distancing and washing of hands with soap at all times to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” the release states. Ends
