Gaborone cautions permit seekers

14 Apr 2020

Batlokwa deputy chief, Kgosi Michael Gaborone has warned that COVID-19 permits did not entail loitering around.

Kgosi Gaborone was interviewing those seeking permits at the Tlokweng kgotla. He said permits should be used for their intended purpose and not on other activities.

In an interview, he said while issuing the permits, he educated the community about the danger of travelling during lockdown, adding that many were denied travel permits as their reasons were not convincing.

The majority of those seeking permits claimed work commitment while others cited medical needs, grocery shopping and others wanted to travel to their lands and cattle posts. Ends
