Choppies Super Store has donated food hampers to 120 families in the Lentsweletau-Mmopane constituency.

Speaking at the donation ceremony today, Choppies chief executive officer, Mr Ramachandran Ottapathu said the company had been donating food hampers to different families in the last 10 days.

He said they had already donated to 760 families all over the country, adding that they would continue with the good gesture of remembering the needy throughout the state of public emergency period.

“This is our way of saying thank you to Botswana and the unwavering support. We will continue to support you as well,” he said.

Lentsweletau-Mmopane constituency senior administration officer, Mr Masego Thantshane said the food hampers would go a long way to help, adding that some people were unable to go to the shops for groceries.

He said the world had changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that their constituency was not spared.

“This has in many ways affected our lifestyles. We now see empty streets and closed doors with barely anything to see us through another day,” he said.ends
