No coronavirus case in Ghanzi official

Ghanzi District Health Management Team (DHMT) coordinator, Ms Keitumetse Maapatsane says they are yet to record any confirmed case of coronavirus in the district.
Speaking to BOPA on April 11, Ms Maapatsane stated that a total of 30 people from quarantine centres in Ghanzi and one woman from isolation centre, had all tested negative and had been discharged.
She said all the discharged were transported to their respective homes, saying some were transported to Palapye, Francistown, Orapa, Rakops as well as Ngami area.
Furthermore, Ms Maapatsane said a total of 16 people at Charleshill Sub-district also tested negative and of these, two were from self-quarantine and two were nurses, who were manning quarantine centres while the rest were from quarantine centres, which were Get Rest and Ncojane guest houses.
She said all those who had been discharged were encouraged and advised to do self-monitoring for at least a period of seven days, to practice social distancing wash hands using soap and clean water frequently or sanitise as well as to cover their mouths when they cough.
Ms Maapatsane also stated that they had a team that had been visiting farms to teach residents on measures to curb the possible spread of coronavirus.
Concerning application of permits, particularly people who are seeking medical attention, she said there was a challenge that some came without evidence or supporting documentation, adding that they compelled to call the respective health facility to verify what they were saying.
