Francistown Rotary club has donated food hampers worth P14 700 to Francistown to be distributed to 15 families.
Speaking during the donation ceremony on Tuesday, the club’s representative, Ms Gaolape Makgarapa, said the donation was in line with government’s appeal to all individuals, companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and institutions to offer financial or any kind of contribution in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his remarks, Francistown mayor, Councillor Godisang Radisigo pleaded with other companies, individuals and business people to come forth with any donation since government alone could not manage.
Cllr Radisigo said people’s movement in the City is a concern and a sign that people are failing to abide by the emergency COVID-19 pandemic regulations.
He urged the second city’s residents to stay at home and appealed to parents to ensure the safety of their children in order for COVID-19 pandemic to be controlled and managed. Ends
