Kgosi Lenkagetse Keipheditse of Tshimoyapula says he is disturbed by a large number of people who visit his office to apply for travel permits.
Speaking in an interview, Kgosi Keipheditse said for somebody to get a permit he/ she should provide a valid reason.
He said some of the residents applied for permits to buy food in Serowe whereas they could buy food from shops within the village.
Over the weekend, Kgosi Keipheditse said, he had to give out 40 permits to individuals for different reasons. He said most of those who were given permits were those who had to seek medical assistance in Serowe.
He appealed to residents to stay home, but some were reluctant to do so. He said he did not want to give people permits to roam around .
Kgosi Keipheditse said he was worried by some of the residents who did not comply with measures that were put in place to reduce spread of COVID-19.
He warned the villagers to stop abusing the permits and make sure that they go back to their places after finishing whatever they were given the permits for. ENDS
