Compliance to movement regulations a challenge in Etsha
05 Apr 2020
Compliance to movement regulations seems to be a challenge in Etsha 1 and Etsha 6 where residents have been spotted travelling to ploughing fields even without permits
Some residents told BOPA in an interview that they depended mostly on farming for a living, hence going to the fields was inevitable.
Kgosi Joseph Seemeko of Etsha 6 said demand for permits to go to ploughing fields in his area was overwhelming, adding it was not surprising because the Bambukushu were known for arable farming.
He said as of Saturday, they had already issued 40 permits to people who wanted to travel to the fields, while some were still submitting requests for the permits at the kgotla.
Kgosi Seemeko however noted that as village leaders, they did all they could to impart the education on the COVID-19 to the community through VDC and councillors. ENDS
