Rakgare encourages Batswana to exercise during lockdown
Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Tumiso Rakgare has implored Batswana to make use of the state of public emergency to exercise and keep fit.
He urged the nation to use their homes and time to work on their fitness and prevent non-communicable diseases such as heart disease and stroke.
He also encouraged entertainers to apply their creativity more during this time to entertain the nation, advising them to make use of social media platforms to keep people entertained.
Minister Rakgare said government was aware that activities where the performers usually take part and make profit were cancelled.
He indicated that his ministry was still in talks on how they would assist those affected, noting that not everyone would be assisted.
Mr Rakgare further said government resolved to release more than 17000 youth in service including Internship and Tirelo Sechaba but noted however that they will continue receiving their allowances.
He urged the youth to comply with the measures put in place to combat the spread of COVID- 19, as well as to keep the extreme distance. Ends
