Gare donates to fight COVID-19

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Moshupa/Manyana constituency has donated a disinfecting spray tank, and three boxes each containing 18 bars of body washing soaps which were to be handed over to needy families.

Speaking during the donation Mr Karabo Gare explained that the gesture was aimed at encouraging especially councillors and other capable Batswana to find and assist needy families.

Mr Gare advised councillors to give whatever they could, adding every show of kindness would go a long way. He explained that it was important for them to be seen to lead the fight against the COVID-19.

Mr Gare also Assistant Minister Investment, Trade and Industry described the current situation as a blessing in disguise for the nation that relied on others for goods especially food and services. He challenged Batswana to draw positive lessons from the situation and start producing food for themselves.

To this end, he challenged political leaders to spearhead the transformation by supporting home-grown businesses at district level.

 For his part Moshupa Sub District Council chairman Mr Peter Sethibe applauded Mr Gare for the gesture and footprints in the area.

Mr William Masibi also thanked the MP for his active efforts to touch the lives of ordinary residents. He shared that Mr Gare recently donated 20 potato bags which were distributed among needy families across the constituency. Likewise, he encouraged councillors to visit and support one other and appreciate the challenges they each faced in their respective areas.

Mr Motlhatlosi Kelobang further applauded Mr Gare for giving each councillor P300 for petrol with a view to encourage them to visit residents especially, those in need. ENDS
