Lucara donates sanitisers and masks worth 200 000

One of the country’s leading diamond companies, Lucara Botswana has donated sanitisers, masks and gloves worth P200 000 to the Boteti community.
The company ’s Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) manager Mr Ewetse Mathaba said the donation, which comprised 155 litres of sanitisers, 1600 masks and 1600 gloves, was demonstration of the company’s commitment to partner with government to fight the spread of coronavirus.
Boteti sub-district Deputy District Commissioner Mr Ewetse Selelo commended Lucara for the contribution, saying they were a very supportive stakeholder, which had committed to making a difference in the society.
He said the donation demonstrated that the company cared about the health of the community.
Mr Selelo stated that Boteti sub-district COVID-19 team had placed five people on quarantine in Letlhakane.
He noted that most of the people concerned were from Zimbabwe and it appeared the numbers would continue increasing. Ends
