Workers stranded

03 Apr 2020

Some essential workers, who were scheduled to report for duty in Molepolole, were left stranded in the morning due to unavailability of public transport.

Some went back home while others decided to walk to work. Department of Road Transport and Safety station manager in Molepolole, Mr Andrew Paledi, said public transport services were not available because operators had not been issued with permits as per State of Public Emergency regulations.

He said none of the operators had come forward to apply for the permits.

Mr Paledi also highlighted that this morning the department had a meeting to assess the situation. He said he would contact public transport operators  to urge them to apply for travel permits. ends
