Govt to reconstruct Madiba staff room
17 Mar 2020
The delay in construction of a new administration block at Madiba Senior Secondary School emanates from its exclusion as a new project under NDP 11.
Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Ms Nnaniki Makwinja told Parliament that her ministry was aware that the administration building at Madiba Senior Secondary School that was burnt down in 2013 had not yet been constructed.
“My ministry has been allocated P7 million for burnt facilities for secondary schools under the 2020/21 budget and the replacement of the burnt administration block in Madiba Secondary School can now be initiated,” she said.
Member of Parliament for Mahalapye West, Mr David Tshere had asked the assistant minister if she was aware that the staff room or administration block at Madiba Senior Secondary School was long destroyed by fire and as a result there was serious shortage of office space and meeting places.
Furthermore, Mr Tshere also wanted to know when the administration block would be reconstructed. Ends
