Botswana Netball Association (BONA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a non-profit making organisation, ‘Who Am I?’ over the weekend.
Speaking in an interview, the association’s public relations officer, Tiny Hirschfield said collaboration was one of the ways to put the BONA house back in order.
She said from the setbacks they experienced in their journey, they needed to re-brand and reach out to the community.
She said the collaboration would focus on reviving the association’s charitable netball games.
“Netball games have not been played throughout the year, but we are planning to change that and have more competitions which will keep the association alive,” she said. She said BONA players had not been getting enough training due to lack of funds hence the games would also help in raising funds for such activities.
“Through the collaboration, we are also looking into empowering not just the physical aspect of our netball athletes, but also their welfare,” she said.
Hirschfield said the first event would be held in Gaborone at the BONA courts on April 26 and would include social teams. Ends
