He challenged the staff to realign thoughts and efforts towards contributing to the achievement of of export-led economy, building human capital, ensuring efficient government spending and financing as well as the provision of appropriate infrastructure and maintenance.
“We are all aware that we are challenged when it comes to project implementation and we must find effective means to overcome this persistent hurdle. It is my firm conviction that we will make deliberate and concerted efforts to align the ministry to the national transformation agenda,” he said.
He said the transformation strategy required a multifaceted approach to bring them to full fruition.
Minister Mmusi stated that some of the transformational initiatives under consideration included separation of Directorate of Public Prosecutions from the Attorney General Chambers, establishment of a Judicial Training College, establishment of family and child protection units within the Botswana Police Service and establishment of a reserve force with the BDF.
Mr Mmusi said all the initiatives would demand the requisite enablers such as reorganisation of resources, manpower, and even commissioning of intense legislation considerations and dialogue. ends
