Moagi in Morocco for renewable energy study tour

Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Mr Lefoko Moagi is in Morocco for a renewable energy study tour at the invitation of the World Bank.
A press release from the ministry says the aim of the tour is to have an exchange on Morocco’s experience with the development of large scale renewable energy projects.
Morocco is a leader in renewable energy.
The release explains that although Botswana is currently strongly dependent on coal for electricity supply, there is strong interest to develop renewable energy resources.
While in Morocco, the minister will visit amongst others, the 582 MW solar complex and wind farm.
He will also hold meetings with key ministers and chief executive officer of the Renewable Energy Agency,” says the release.
Also on the study tour are Mr Moagi’s counterparts from Namibia and South Africa.
He is expected back home on March 7.ENDS
