HRDC conducts skills fair clinics

Botswana Human Resource Development Council-HRDC is conducting skills and career fair clinics in Maun starting from yesterday and ending today in Maun.
In an interview, HRDC manager, student placing and welfare, Ms Mareanyane Selelo said the two days fair targeted school leavers, out of school youth and parents as well because the latter were career influencers.
She observed that the skills and career clinics, which was in its 11th year, would be held in Maun for the second time as a way of bringing institutions and sectors closer to youth willing to further their studies.
She said local tertiary institutions, international institutions and vocational training institutions would be available ‘as a one stop shop’ that helps to cut costs for the youth.
She said the event aimed to give young people knowledge on relevant training of choice for them acquire relevant skills needed in the market.
“The overall goal is to facilitate informed career choices,” she said.
She said the main target was Form Five school leavers and Form Three leavers, while in and out of school youth were also welcome.
Sector Industries such as health, information, communications and technology, education, agriculture, finance and business, will be available to provide young people with relevant information. ENDS
