Kgosi Selotlego laid to rest

Mourners from all walks of life celebrated Kgosi Kgomotso Selotlego’s illustrious life in Ralekgetho in Southern District on Saturday.
Speakers took turns during the funeral to describe Kgosi Selotlego who was a headman of arbitration as a friend to all who cherished humility.
The Member of Parliament for Moshupa/Manyana, Mr Karabo Gare hailed Kgosi Selotlego’s legacy and wished Batswana could borrow a leaf from him.
Mr Gare, who is also the Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, said Kgosi Selotlego was a humble person, who worked tirelessly, selflessly and whole-heartedly towards the socio-economic development of the country.
He said Kgosi Selotlego served his people alike and focused on impacting positively on lives of the people for a better Botswana.
He described Kgosi Selotlego as a loving person who believed in communication and consultation to take the village and country forward.
He challenged all to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country just like Kgosi Selotlego.
For his part, Kgosi Oscar Mosielele of Moshupa said orators’ descriptions were befitting a person of Kgosi Selotlego’s caliber, adding that the nation had lost a great man.
He encouraged the populace to assist dikgosi in building a better Botswana of which Kgosi Selotlego believed in.
Kgosi Mosielele said from 2009 to 2016, Kgosi Selotlego dedicated his time and services as Ralekgetho kgosi without any payment, noting that such a move needed an applause.
It was only in 2016 that he became a headman of arbitration where he started receiving remuneration.
A family representative, Mr Morulaganyi Sethao said Kgosi Selotlego inspired him to pursue auto-mechanics after imparting such skills to him through fixing a tractor.
He said ‘Comfy’ as he affectionately called him was a stout believer in God and has no doubt that he was resting in heaven.
Mr Sethao said they shared a lot in life as well as the same vision that made them to complement each other and hang together.
Councillor for Ralekgetho, Mr Omphile Motlhajoe said they worked together in developing the village and the country at large. He hailed Kgosi Selotlego for creating a harmonious working relationship with all people.
He said kgosi encouraged them during their school days to become the best they could be in life, adding that he always emulated his leadership style.
Mr Selotlego, who died on February 21, was born in 1959 and is survived by two brothers, four sisters, seven nieces and nephews.
He married Pinkie in 1993 and were blessed with five children. BOPA ENDS
