DeBeers govt negotiations ongoing

Parliament has learnt that negotiations between government and DeBeers on the Debswana Agreement are still ongoing.
Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Mr Lefoko Moagi told the house on February 25 that it was therefore not appropriate to answer questions relating to the agreement in order to minimise potential interference with the ongoing negotiations and avoid comprising the process.
MP for Mmadinare, Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi had wanted to know if government was considering to set up a research branch of De Beers in Botswana. Ends
