Orapa out to defend title

Orapa United started their quest to defend the Orange FA Cup on a high note, trouncing Mogoditshane Fighters 5-1 in an entertaining game played at Molepolole Sports Complex on Saturday.
Other than facing each other, the two teams had to contend with forces of nature, heavy rain and strong winds.Playing as underdogs, the Debswana First Division South outfit were at par with their opponents who boast a skilled and experienced squad.
Backed by the wind, especially in first half, the Samba Boys, as Fighters is known by its fans, took the game to their opponents, backed by chants from Masitaoka supporters.
In another game, Masitaoka proceeded to the next stage of the tournament through a 2-1 victory over Sankoyo Bush Bucks. Two first half goals from Tolani Olaoye and Topo Piet were enough to send the Debswana First Division South outfit to the next stage.
Second half substitute, Obakwe Shango scored for his team, and although they huffed and puffed for an equalising goal to send the game to penalties, Masitaoka held on until the fat lady sung.
In Letlhakane, Diamond Chiefs walloped Extension Gunners 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out at Diamond Chiefs Stadium on Saturday.
The last 32 Orange FA Cup games in Mochudi on Saturday also saw the once feared Mochudi Centre Chiefs bowing out of the tournament after losing to Mahalapye MR Highlanders 4-3.
In the other game of the day, Mochudi Rovers defeated Flamengo Santos by a solitary goal courtesy of Lucky Molefe.
The goal was more of a gift from the Flamengo Santos goal minder after he missed a clearance and Molefe ran through on goal to slot home in the first half.
Township Rollers walloped Tonota FC 6-0 in a thrilling encounter played at Francistown Old Stadium on Saturday which saw Rollers into the last 16 of the Orange FA cup with ease.
Ofentse Nato scored the opening goal of the match in the third minute, and on the 30th minute, Simisani Mathumo scored the second to take the game to recess with Rollers leading 2-0.
Five minutes from the second half, Onkarabile Ratanang scored a third for Rollers taking the game far away for Tonota FC to make any comeback. Minutes later, Edwin Moalosi scored a fourth from a penalty kick whilst substitute, Bame Morwalela increased the tally to five goals.
Township Rollers completed the scoring spree with Tlhalefo Molebatsi who scored the sixth goal from a penalty kick following a foul by the goalkeeper in the 84th minute.
Two Rollers players, Mothusi Cooper was cautioned with a yellow card whilst Ivan Mbowa received a red card.
After being kicked out of the Mascom Top 8 a fortnight ago, Jwaneng Galaxy redeemed themselves by drubbing Miscellaneous 2-0 at Serowe Sports Complex on Saturday.
In another encounter, Prisons XI defeated first division side Tsabothe by 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out after they played to a goalless draw during full time. ENDS
