Getbucks sponsors Notwane FC

19 Feb 2020

Getbucks Botswana has injected P100 000 into Notwane FC pocket to help the team finish the 2019/2020 league.

Unveiling the sponsorship at Gaborone on February 18, Getbucks Botswana deputy CEO Marshal Chimedza, said his company was  aware of the challenges faced by local teams, hence they chose to partner with Notwane to help them to get back to glory days.

“Today it is all about partnerships and relationships.

We saw it fit to partner with Notwane FC because at Getbucks we believe in giving back.

We have pledged what we have and I urge all the players to do their best.

We are proud of where the team is and it is now up to them to turn a new leaf, and that can be realised through hard work, which always beats talent,” said Chimedza.

The club president Tebogo Sebego expressed gratitude towards Getbucks noble gesture  and emphasised the importance of institutional sponsorships as well as educating branches on the value of sponsorship.

“This club was winning every trophy back in the days as resources were available.

Today Getbucks is helping the team to return back to its glory days.

Despite the loss of six points, the team managed to stay afloat and competitive.

This is also the right time to introduce new edition to the club, who will in future help in making this team a powerhouse and competitive again,” said Sebego.

For his part, Notwane FC coach Oupa Kowa said they were grateful for the sponsorship.

He said the team had some deficiency in some wings, hence the move to add a few members, especially on defence, which has been lagging behind.

“I believe that the five players that came on board will help the team in moving forward, some of them have already made appearance in the games.

On other developments, Katlego Kobape, who was the team’s captain, has now relived himself from the position as Mphoyamodimo Keeiponye is now the team’s captain,” he said.

He further said the aim was for the team to be in top 8 and appealed to the supporters to patronise their games despite the all.

Currently Notwane is at position 12 in the log standings with 11 games remaining. ENDS
