Puso Thandiwe host Batlokwa elders

17 Feb 2020

Kgosi Puso of Batlokwa and his wife, Ms Thandiwe Gaborone hosted villages elders at the main kgotla, recently to appreciate their role in building the community and to shower them with love.

Kgosi Puso said old as they were, their role and wisdom in building families and the community was immeasurable hence they were important members of the society.

He said their input to Bogosi was important and there was not much that the dikgosi could achieve without them.

The village will be celebrating 140 years of existence this year and Kgosi Puso said the input of the elders would be of great importance given their knowledge on cultural practices and traditions associated with Batlokwa culture.

For her part, Ms Gaborone said it was important to shower the elders with love on Valentine’s Day because some had lost their partners.

She noted that it was the wish of the royal house to have a united community which loved and cared for one another.

Ms Gaborone said such could only be achieved if the royals and the community worked together.

She encouraged them to dispense wisdom to the young generation.

At times, young people disappoint their parents and elders with the decisions that they make, but Ms Gaborone said that should not discourage them to guide young people.

Kgosi Puso and his wife donated 70 blankets to elderly. ENDs
