Grading of roads to be completed end of March - Segokgo
13 Feb 2020
Grading of roads in the Mochudi East constituency is ongoing and expected to be completed at the end of March.
Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Thulagano Segokgo said this when answering a question from Mochudi East legislator, Mr Mabuse Pule on Wednesday.
He stated that the ministry was aware that Kgatleng District, like other areas in the greater Gaborone had been declared a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Modipane/Mabalane road is still planned for 2021-2022 in the current NDP 11, while funding for the coming financial year is mainly committed to ongoing projects, he said.
Mr Pule had asked the minister if he was aware that Kgatleng District had been declared a SEZ because of its proximity to Gaborone.
He also requested the minister to state when the grading of roads connecting the villages of Mochudi East constituency would be done.
Mr Pule asked the minister if he would consider as a matter of urgency the Modipane/Mabalane road in the development plan period of 2020/2021 and not 2021/2022. ENDS
