About 1 510 agri-business youth projects have been funded for three years at a total of P148 943.38, Assistant Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Buti Billy has said.

Mr Buti said his ministry funded 624 agricultural business projects during the 2016/2017 financial year while 473 and 413 were funded in 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 respectively through the Youth Development Fund (YDF).

He said there were a number of value chains that existed both within and outside the sector, which included production of livestock and subsequent sales to butchery owners who then brought meat into the market.

Mr Billy added that there were also transportation opportunities that existed as well as livestock feed and other animal products.

 The MP for Jwaneng-Mabutsane, Mr Mephato Reatile had asked the minister to state the number of youth funded agri-business project that had been funded through YDF for the past three years. ENDS
