Bobonong MP calls for fair distribution of resources

Bobonong MP says for a country to be seen to be making strides in developments, there must be indicators showing better treatment of the underprivileged citizens.
Speaking during a kgotla meeting in Lepokole, on February 10, Mr Taolo Lucas said no country would claim to be performing well economically when the situation of its less privileged citizens was appalling.
Therefore,, he said he was looking into tabling a motion in Parliament calling for establishment of a national committee that would be ceased with ensuring equitable distribution of resources.
He argued that his observation was that certain developments and offices that facilitated such developments had been skewed in developed areas.
He cited some state owned enterprises as Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) and Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) as some of the offices that were restricted to developed areas much to the disadvantage of citizens in remote areas.
Mr Lucas sated that, buoyed by experience and observation, he had picked that poor settlements and/or villages would not develop if such status quo prevailed.
If successful in his call, Mr Lucas explained that his motion would ensure that programmes and resources would reach all corners of the country to benefit all. Though he admitted that getting the around 30km gravel road tarred would be a mammoth task especially that it was not included in the eleventh National Development Plan (NDP 11), he told his electorate that he would do his best in advocacy.
“I had initially thought that I could advocate for the road to be included in NDP 12, but with your guidance I have come to the conclusion to argue for a special dispensation through a motion or input in the mid-term review,” said the Bobonong MP.
The area MP called for his constituents to join him in advocating for developments in their area. He said the village chief once called for the road to extend to and link Lepokole with Tshokwe and Robelela. Ends
