If you educate a man, you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.
This Fanti proverb has somewhat become synonymous to, and is often thrown around drolly during most women engagements.
It is therefore fitting that a newly-established women oriented awards dubbed Women’s Awards BW convened different female professionals in a bid to hype interest in women to be engaged in any industry to produce best qualities and empowering them into leadership.
They also chose to echo the consistent idiom to harness their prowess ahead of the impending awards.
The Women Awards BW will be held under the theme: We Are Capable and we Can, and are considered the most coveted awards in the country, complimenting women who work and have set benchmarks in establishing themselves.
Celebrating the spirit of hard work and compassion in doing business while creating a niche and impacting larger society, the Women Awards BW is a stepping stone to felicitate and make small businesses truly rewarding.
These awards will lead them to achieve national recognition.
Speaking in an interview, Zeb Nal, event coordinator, Mr Bofelo Zebe said the aim was to recognise and celebrate women and encourage team work among women by networking to uncover and appreciate hidden talents. The event also aims at supporting and fostering growth for women who have achieved in their models.
Zebe also highlighted that the awards would be held next month, which is women’s month, and it would be a great moment to celebrate the month with a big event for women.
The event will engage different stakeholders who deal with issues of women to spread the positive influence in the young generation.
