Botswana records suspected corona virus case

Botswana registered a suspected case of corona virus on Thursday.

A press release from the Ministry of Health and Wellness states that the case was registered at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone following arrival of Ethiopian Airways from China.

The suspected individual is still under isolation at Block 8 clinic as investigations continue.

Accordingly, the health ministry advises those who travel to practice good hygiene as well as avoid affected and crowded places.

Travelers are also advised to seek medical attention and share travel history with health care providers when they experience fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, fatigue and headache.

The release states that passengers and crew who experience symptoms while travelling, the nearest destination stop should be alerted for prompt health care assistance.

Travelers are encouraged to get screened at points of entry for early diagnosis and treatment as the ministry continues to monitor the situation closely in consultation with the World Health Organisation (WHO).
