Ntlo Ya Dikgosi has learnt that the Kgomo-Khumo has had a great impact in the fight against stock theft in all areas of its operations.

Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Service, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila informed members that perpetrators had been arrested, stolen stock recovered and cases taken to various courts, resulting in conviction and imprisonment of perpetrators.

Mr Mzwinila who was answering a question on behalf ofMinister of Defence, Justice and Security further revealed that the Kgomo-Khumo operation had not yet covered Boteti and other areas in the country due to resource constraints.

Resources permitting, he said, the operation would be extended to other areas including Boteti.

Notwithstanding, he said Boteti continued to be served by police officers from their respective areas, who were also charged with the responsibility to fight stock theft.

Boteti region Kgosi Godfrey Serapo had wanted the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security to update the house about progress made regarding Kgomo-Khumo exercise and the reason why the Boteti region was not covered. ENDS
