Twenty five-year-old, Ms Leungo Motswetla of Mogapinyana in the Bobirwa sub-district, has won a brand new VW Polo Highline, thanks to the First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB) win and swipe competition. Ms Motswetla, an intern at Department of Education in Selebi Phikwe, could not believe her luck, as she was not aware of the competition.

Although, she dreamt of driving a nice car one day, she did not know it would be this soon, as she had recently started driving classes, with the little she earned from the internship programme.

The young woman was amongst the three finalists during the give-away competition draw held in Maun over the weekend.

During the draw, three finalists were all given car keys and were asked to try open the car. 

Ms Motswetla, who was the last to try her luck, walked away with the brand new car, while the runners up walked away with P5 000 each. She revealed that she swiped several times, but did not know that automatically entered her  into the competition. She thanked FNBB for coming up with such a initiative and encouraged Batswana to bank with FNBB to benefit.

In an interview, FNBB marketing manager - retail, Mr Kabo Mogae explained that Swipe & Win was one of the ways of rewarding the bank’s customers for their loyalty and encouraged safe and secure transactional behaviour for day-to-day spending. 

He said the competition ran for a period of three months from October 7 until December 31, 2019, targeting customers all over Botswana, adding that winners were drawn from all entries across the country.

Mr Mogae encouraged FNBB customers to always swipe as it was free of charge, much safer and convenient. For customers to stand a chance to win the grand prize, he said they needed to do a minimum of five swipe transactions each month, upon which they would be automatically entered into the competition.

He noted that the bank decided to hold the draw in Maun to touch base with residents, noting that the competition had been running for more than five years. ends
