Business pitso bears fruit

Chairperson of the annual Gabane Youth Business Pitso, Mr Blondie Malope, says their efforts are swaying people into business.
In an interview ahead of tomorrow’s pitso themed: Customer Experience is the Ultimate Business Driver, Mr Malope said the pitso registered more attendants and exhibitors each year.
“The fact that we are changing the mindset of other people to think about doing business is a huge development,” he said.
Mr Malope said they wanted to motivate people to venture into business in order to grow the country’s economy and create employment.
Although the initiative was initially targeting young people, it had grown to target all who were interested in starting businesses and those already in business.
He said the Gabane Youth Business Pitso was an opportunity to network and even device business ideas.
“We want people to create business and we also give exposure to those in business,” Mr Malope said.
He said the Gabane Youth Business Pitso neither offered mentoring nor linked people directly, but rather served as a platform for people to meet.
The chairperson noted that since its inception in 2017, they grew because organisations such as CEDA, CIPA, Duma FM and Babereki Insurance Brokers came on board.
He added that for their growth, they were banking on the support of the private sector to grow the seminar to have a wide impact.
The minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development Mr Mpho Balopi and area MP also Minister of Defence Justice and Security Mr Kagiso Mmusi are expected to grace the event.
Ms Tebogo Ferguson-Mokobi who is the managing director at Tops Dry cleaning and Laundry Services is expected to officiate. ENDS
