Tatitown Police have retrieved the body of an 18-year-old boy who drowned Sunday in the flooded Borolong village's Tlhalogang River which feeds into the Shashe River.

Station commander, Superintendent Edward Leposo, said the teenager fell into a deep trench and drowned while fishing in the stream with two others Sunday afternnon.

Superintendent Leposo said upon receiving the bad news around 6pm, police rushed to the scene and managed to remove the body which was trapped in a deep trench dug by sand miners.

He said the body of the deceased, who hails from Maun, was awaiting post-mortem at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital.

This is the second such incident to occur in Borolong in two months following last November's drowning of two children, a boy aged five and his 18-month-old sister, who were trying to cross a stream that runs through the village.

The boy's body was discovered the same day trapped under a foot-bridge while that of the sister was found three days later at Mphane Lands. Ends
