16 Jan 2020
President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has Wednesday afternoon visited the Morekisi homestead to console the family following the death of their son Morekisi Morekisi.
Mr Morekisi took his last breath on Sunday afternoon after he succumbed to a short illness.
The President pointed out that the family be comforted because God had done his will and unfortunately no one would ever know why such an unfortunate incident had to happen.
He said he learnt of the bad news when he was away on a working trip outside the country, hence he decided to visit and pay his last respect, especially that he would not be around on the day of the funeral as he had other engagements outside the country.
The President pointed out that it was painful to lose such a young soul who was promising to be an asset to the country and his family because he was raised with good morals and values.
Earlier on when welcoming the guests, the uncle to the deceased Mr Motsayalore Morekisi said the death of his nephew took them by surprise because on the fateful day he never showed any sign of not being well.
He said that although he was not someone who frequented the hospital, he would at times visit the hospital just like anyone else.
Mr Morekisi revealed that in the afternoon on Sunday, the young Morekisi just told his mother and the sister that he was going to rest, but after a while when the sister checked on him in his bedroom she found him lying in an uncomfortable state.
The uncle said they then called the emergency services and by the time they arrived at the hospital, the doctors told them that his nephew had passed on.
Mr Morekisi thanked the President for the gesture, saying they would surely be comforted.
Morekisi Morekisi was the son to Ms Goitsemang Morekisi, who is the coordinator of the Poverty Eradication programme at the Office of the President.
He leaves behind his mother and his elder sister and according to the uncle, he will be laid to rest over the weekend. Ends
