Two men died in a road accident that happened near Habu turn off in the Okavango region on December 26.

Speaking in an interview, Gumare acting Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent Jerry Sabata said the two, who died were a father aged 69, and a son, who was the driver, aged 36. Assistant Supt Sabata said the two passengers, who survived the accident, were a 22-year-old man, who was also the son to the deceased and another 22-year-old passenger.

He said preliminary investigations showed that there was a problem with one of the tyres, resulting in the Mitshubishi Pajero vehicle losing control.

Assistant Supt Sabata said the two men were confirmed dead at Gumare Primary Hospital, while another passenger was treated and admitted at Gumare Primary Hospital to undergo counselling and the other surviving passenger was referred to Nyangabwe Hospital at Francistown for further treatment. He said all were from Boseja in Maun. Assistant Supt Sabata said relatives of the victims had been notified of the incident. ends
