Clinic maintenance to start next year

Parliament has been informed that the maintenance of Mmopane Clinic is planned to start in January 2020.

Health and Wellness Assistant Minister, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe said the actual completion dates of the maintenance works would be considered during the commissioning of the works by the contractor. 

He said the ministry was aware of the current status of health facilities in the the Lentsweletau/Mmopane constituency and they were in the process of sourcing funds to attend to other facilities.

He said despite some challenges, routine maintenance works continued to be undertaken. Minister Lelatisitswe said the construction of a primary hospital in the Lentsweletau/Mmopane constituency had not been planned for in the current NDP 11 planning phase, adding that it would be considered in the next planning phase.

The Member of Parliament for Thamaga/Kumakwane, Mr Palelo Motaosane had asked if the ministry would consider the construction of a primary hospital in the Molepolole Administration Authority considering that the population of villages in the Lentsweletau/Mmopane constituency exceeded 40 000.

He had also asked about the state of health facilities in the Molepolole Administration Authority with particular reference to Hatsalatladi, Mmopane and Kopong and plans to maintain them.ENDS
