France to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Botswana

 France intends to strengthen and intensify its bilateral cooperation with Botswana which covers many areas.

 France’s ambassador  to Botswana, Ms Laurence Beau said in a meeting with Ntlo ya Dikgosi chairman Kgosi Puso Gaborone on December 10 that her country planned to continue bilateral relations with Botswana.

Ms Beau said  the two countries’ bilateral cooperation extended to the fields of security and defense, education and health, economy and agriculture as well as archaeology. 

She expressed the hope that Botswana and France, together with other African leaders in attendance, would share knowledge at the 28th Africa-France summit to be held in France next June.

The summit, expected to implore stakeholders to share challenges and solutions, will address issues of sustaining cities of the world.

It would help the two countries share more on issues of sustainability of cities, she said.

For his part, Kgosi Puso applauded France for its continued assistance towards the  development of African countries.

Kgosi Puso noted that Botswana benefited a great deal from its relations with France. 

He said the Africa-France summit would benefit the country further as participating stakeholders would explore opportunities beneficial to Botswana.

Kgosi Puso said Gaborone faced challenges related to planning, security, traffic congestion as well as technology.

Through the summit, he said, countries would share knowledge which would go a long way in assisting the transformation of cities around the world. Ends
