Govt to buy houses for Shashe

The Ministry of Basic Education ministry plans to purchase Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) houses in the next financial year to avail more staff houses at Shashe River School. Responding to a question in Parliament, the Assistant Minister Ms Nnaniki Makwinja said the houses were still under construction in Tonota.
She said currently there were 122 teachers and non 47 non-teaching against 67 houses explaining that only 97 teachers and three non-teaching staff were fully accommodated in the school. She added that most of the former industrial employees were mainly from Tonota, Semotshwane and surrounding areas.
The Member of Parliament for Tonota Mr Pono Moatlhodi had asked the minister to state whether there were plans to avail more staff houses at Shashe River School. ends
