Agriculture ministry trains 899

The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security, through the National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC), has trained 899 people between 2012 and 2018.
Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Ms Beauty Manake said they were trained on different fields which included processing of meat products, fruit and vegetables, cereal products, legumes and pulses, packaging of food grains and handling of honey amongst others.
Ms Manake said there were 20 people who have established and set-up businesses since the training. Jwaneng-Mabutsane MP, Mr Mephato Reatile had wanted the assistant minister to state the number of people who were trained on food processing, and to give an update on the number of people who have established and set-up viable businesses since being trained.
