No plans for technical college
28 Nov 2019
The Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology Mr Machana Shamukuni says there are no plans to construct a Technical College at Chadibe Village in the Sefhare-Ramokgonami Constituency.
He said there was no provision in the NDP 11 for construction of a technical college offering Diploma level programmes at Chadibe. Minister Shamukuni said there were currently four technical colleges offering Diploma level training in the country.
“These institutions are still to operate at maximum capacity and if the need arises in future and funds permitting, the government will consider constructing additional Technical Colleges,” he said.
The minister was responding to a question from the Sefhare-Ramokgonami MP Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang who wanted to know whether there were plans to construct a technical college at Chadibe in the Sefhare-Ramokgonami Constituency. He also wanted the minister to elaborate the plan and timelines. ENDS
