Mahalapye hospital has 39 doctors

The Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Lemogang Kwape says there are 39 doctors at Mahalapye District Hospital, of which 10 are specialists and 29 medical officers.
Answering a Parliamentary question, Dr Kwape said there were 45 doctors dedicated to the population of Mahalapye, four allocated to the clinics and two at the primary hospital.
He explained that currently the Mahalapye Primary Hospital was open and offering outpatients’ services and sexual reproductive health services to the public. He said since the refurbishment was done in phases, some areas of the building were not finalised.
Mahalapye West MP, Mr David Tshere had asked the minister to state the number of doctors currently employed at the hospital, how many of the doctors were dedicated to the population of Mahalapye and if there were any plans to open Mahalapye Primary Hospital. ENDS
