The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Mr Sethabelo Modukanele says the Central District has secured an eight-hectare plot on the Southern side of Mahalapye along A1 for the new bus rank.

Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Modukanele said the district was currently exploring the development of the project through the Public-Private Partnership model. The assistant minister further explained that the market stalls for small businesses and their number would be included during the design of the project.

He said due to budgetary constraints the Mahalapye bus rank was not approved for funding in the current DDP 8/NDP11.

Mahalapye West MP Mr David Tshere who wanted to know when the Mahalapye bus rank would be constructed and whether it would consist of market stalls and the number thereof. ENDS
