The Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) is said to be considering adopting Tlhomo Junior Secondary School in Kanye.

CEDA chief executive officer, Mr Thabo Thamane, stated this when giving a keynote address at the school’s 30th anniversary celebrations recently.

Mr Thamane encouraged pupils to work hard in their studies so that they could take advantage of existing opportunities at their agency in future.

He said CEDA strived to hire competent personnel in the areas of accounts, human resource management, auditing and engineering, .

He noted that the agency was in need of personnel from across all fields, who could assist it to achieve its mandated goals and vision.

Mr Thamane advised that besides the skills which they needed in recruiting personnel, mostly the agency was keen to employ personnel with good ethics.

“As part of our recruitment requirements, we need personnel with high standards of ethics. Without that we set you aside,” he said.

He challenged teachers and parents to cooperate for the sake of the children’s education, advising parents to spend more time with learners, to better understand their behaviour and attitudes.

In celebrating the schools’ existence, CEDA donated four laptops to the 2018 junior certificate students, who obtained grade A, and one to the 2019 best performing students in each form.

CEDA also offered three tablets to collegial teachers in the school,10 computers and a heavy duty printer for teachers.

In recognition of their contribution, the agency also donated camping chairs to the school’s support staff and dikgosana of that ward.

For her part, the School Head, Ms Judith Matleelane noted that as they were celebrating the school’s existence, it was critical to remember the notable contribution made by the personnel of its formative years.

Ms Matleelane shared that, although they did not perform satisfactorily in last year’s examinations, there were measures in place, such as study groups and mentoring classes, to improve results. Ends
