Ministry of health staff donate to Moremi special unit

Ministry of Health and Wellness staff has donated hundred packets of sanitary towels to Moremi Primary School special unit,.
Speaking during a handing over of the donation at Maun recently, Adolescent Health Program Coordinator for the ministry, Ms Gosatla Gaealafswe said they decided to donate to the school as it had special class which comprised children with various disabilities.
The donation, she said was part of the ministry’s social responsibility adding that it was important for organisations to give back to the community.
She also noted that adolescent stage came with many challenges to a girlchild therefore it was important to restore their dignity so that they could be accepted by the society.
Ms Gaealefswe sensitised pupils about issues of sexual harassment and encouraged them to report any sexual abuse whether perpetrated by adults or their age mates.
Deputy school head, Ms Bontle Makgetlho thanked the ministry for the gesture, which she said would make a difference in the lives of beneficiaries.
She noted that they had demonstrated love towards people living with disability.
“We really appreciate these gifts as they will help restore the dignity of our students. Blessed is the hand which gives than which receives,” she added.
Some of beneficiaries expressed gratitude towards the ministry asserting that the donations would help them during their menstruation days.
They wished ministry’s employees more blessings in the journey of life and work. Ends
