NTT Nissan donates to Kalamare residents

13 Nov 2019

For residents of Kalamare, November 12 was akin to Christmas as Northern Transvaal Tractors Nissan popularly known as NTT Nissan donated toiletry and food hampers worth P45 000 to pensioners, people living with disability and albinism.

NTT Nissan CEO, Mr Fred Whelton who grew up in Kalamare said he was delighted to be giving back to the community that raised him.

“Kalamare is my home village hence I feel obliged to give back to this community every year and I will continue this exercise without fail,” he said.

Mr Whelton said his parents operated a business in Kalamare and every year on December 24, his mother would throw a Christmas feast for the community.

His parents’ love for the people of Kalamare he said made him continue their legacy.

Not only do they donate around this time of the year but Mr Whelton said the same groups receive blankets every winter season.

For his part, Kgosi Goareng Mosinyi of Kalamare said the donations were now a known culture to the people of Kalamare.

He appreciated the relationship they had with the company which he said had been there for a number of years now.

“We have benefited greatly from their gifts of love as a community. They have in the past assisted with fitting burglar bars at the kgotla office and bought school computers and photocopying machine for Kalamare Primary School. Their contribution to the education of our children cannot go unnoticed,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Ms Doreen Seipatlo could not contain her happiness and thanked Nissan for the assistance. Ends
