Orange FA Cup back

The draw for the Orange FA Cup second season first round was conducted at the Gaborone Bus Rank on November 8.

The draw has pitted 32 out of 48 teams from North and South regions against each other.

The games in the nothern region will kick off on November 30, while those in the southern region will start on December 1.

In South, Kang United will battle it out with Flamengo Santos while Matebejana FC will face Moselebe Fighters.

Masitaoka is pitted against Taung Young Strikers, Broadhurst United will battle it out with Kanye United. Mogoditshane Fighters will play against Premier League side Gilport United.

Holy Ghost will meet Mochudi Rovers and Jwaneng Fighters will be up against Bokaa Young Pirates, while Ncojane Young Fighters will face King Rodgers.

From the Northern part, Calendar Stars will take FC Palapye, Tonota FC has been drawn against Chobe United, and Maun Terrors will face Diamond Chiefs.

Pacemakers will slug it out with Eleven Angel as Tsa Botlhe takes on Nico United.

Green Lovers will have a date with Sua Flamengos, Motlakase will play against Tafic and Santa Green takes on Morupule Wanderers.

Meanwhile, Botswana Football Association competitions manager, Setete Phuthego said in an interview that they expected the second edition to be ‘bigger and better’. He said the first edition had some challenges ranging from shortage of playing fields adding that the awards were also held late.  

“We have taken note of that  and we are confident that in this edition, we will correct that so that the FA Cup continues to appeal to the spectators,” he said.

Orange representative, Lebogang Moruti said they desired to see the second edition growing given that they had learnt from the first edition.

He said in the second edition, they had realised that 11 teams were new and that they did not compete in the first edition. ENDS
