Police College defend BOTESSA Netbal title

Botswana Police College on November 3 successfully defended their BOTESSA Netball title after beating University of Botswana (UB) 46-41, during the FNBB BOTESSA 2019 championships played at BONA Courts.

Their road to the finals was smooth as they demolished IDM 69-19 in the first game, followed by 60-43 victory against GUC, while in the last game they minced Palapye Technical College 104-03.

During the finals, it was not evident which team would lift the trophy, given that both UB and Police are well known for their speed and endurance in the court.

However, Police capitalised on their opponents’ defensive errors, using their physique and strength to wrap up the game, to be crowned the 2019 champions.

In other games, in football women’s category, UB scooped gold followed by Limkokwing with a silver medal and Serowe College of Education settled for a bronze.

In the men’s category, Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources were crowned the champions, while BAISAGO scooped a gold medal and UB won bronze.

UB also won the women’s basketball, followed by Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education, while Maun Technical College settled for bronze.

UB continued its dominance in basketball, scooping gold in the men’s category, followed by Botswana College of Engineering and Technology in second position, while Botswana Accountancy College won bronze.

In softball, men’s category Jwaneng Technical College won gold, while UB settled for silver and bronze went to Selibe Phikwe Technical College.

Maun Technical College are the women softball championships, the Institute of Development Management won silver and bronze went to UB.

In volleyball men’s category, UB won the crown, followed by Botho and Selebi Phikwe Technical College in second and third spots consecutively, while in the women category Boitekanelo won followed by GUC and UB. ENDS
