The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) spokesperson, Mr Osupile Maroba says the commission is inundated with incidents of missing names of some voters from the voters roll.

Giving media update, Mr Maroba said such occurrences were widely spread across all constituencies.

He said the commission has taken a decision to allow the affected voters to vote.

However he said they would be allowed to vote after thorough investigation and verification with the

commission’s head office.

So far, he said ‘the voters have been patient and calm’.

Following the challenges they experienced, Mr Maroba anticipated that some areas were likely to vote beyond the closing time.

“All gates closes 7pm but those who will be within the polling stations will be allowed to vote,” he said. ENDS
